Buddhism In China

Buddhism in China - offers a comprehensive exploration of the historical development, spread, and influence of Buddhism in one of the world's most populous and culturally diverse nations. From its introduction to China during the Han dynasty to its profound impact on Chinese culture, philosophy, art, and society, this book traces the evolution of Buddhism across different dynasties and periods of Chinese history. Through meticulous research and scholarly analysis, the book examines the translation of Buddhist texts, the establishment of monastic institutions, the patronage of Buddhist rulers, and the adaptation of Buddhist teachings to Chinese cultural contexts. It also explores the interactions between Buddhism and indigenous Chinese religious traditions, such as Daoism and Confucianism, as well as the transmission of Buddhism to other East Asian countries. Whether you are a student of Buddhism, a historian, or simply interested in the cultural heritage of China, "Buddhism in China" provides a comprehensive and insightful exploration of Buddhism's enduring legacy in the Middle Kingdom.

It's a matter of charity

We have embarked on a programme of donating books to libraries in the island and Buddhist monastic institutions, as well as to the children who are unable to afford to purchase them. You too can participate in this act of great merit.
